Promotion of designs for innovative bicycles with business functions

On April 29th 2008, on the location of the main square “Macedonia” in Skopje, the event “Queen’s Day” was organized, under the slogan “Refresh Yourself”. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Skopje (EKH). The main theme of the event was promotion of the bicycle as alternative transport means, in order to protect the environment and support the businesses.

In the framework of the event MEDF as one of the organizers, was involved in the promotion of the best designs for innovative bicycles with business functions.
As a result of the open competition for designs, organized by MEDF and EKH, total of 68 designs were submitted. The submitted designs for innovative bicycles with business functions, were largely intended for: delivery of documents, letters, alternative tourism, delivery of agricultural produce and food, etc. The Commission for selection, made up of representative of MEDF and EKH, according to publicly established selection criteria, decided to award the following designers:

·         1st place and reward of 500 EUR for the design B2-9 by Lazar Sazdanov and Ana Spasevska;

·         2nd place and reward of 300 EUR for the design Bicycle Keti by CAD-ING

·         3rd place and reward of 100 EUR for the design Bicycle for retail and advertising by Pece Angelevski

The Commission awarded a special reward of 100 EUR for the largest number of submitted designs by the designer Kliment Stevanoski.
